July 2013

8.04.2013

The month of July was packed with lots of household projects, getting ready for baby Ellie. Our fourth of July was spent at home, just fixing some things around the house and spending time together as a family.  These photos were taken a few days before we took the training wheels off. Jonah has since then learned how to ride (at the age of 3 1/2 years, mind you!) without training wheels.  He has gotten significantly good at it, using his breaks, learning turns, and a fearless mindset for speed.  He has since then graduated to a new enhanced 'specialized' bike.  (Like father, like son!) We are hoping to get him into BMX biking within the next couple of years--we think he will do really well at the rate our little guy is going!

Here's a fun comparison over the years--each photo taken on July 4th.

Here's a short clip of his first moments on the bike (sans training wheels).  We are so proud of him!

Fourth of July 2011

This morning I was looking through photos of how much Jonah has changed in the past year.  I remember driving down for the first time with Jonah the weekend of July 4th, 2010.  It was my first trip(longer than the usual grocery store) with him.  I thought it was monumental.  We made it and I happily blogged about the visit, here.

Thinking about that trip and how much he's changed, I took a few photos this afternoon while he played with his truck around the kitchen.  I look at these photos and see the little man he is changing into.  He's full of laughter, personality, and provides us much joy.  I cannot wait to snap photos next year and compare again.

This afternoon/evening involved playing outside in the sun, visiting with great neighbors, eating some good food, and overall partaking in the festivities that the fourth of July has to offer.  Happy Fourth of July--may this year be full of celebration! :)

First trip..Oregon bound

7.06.2010

For the 4th of July, Jonah and I headed down to Oregon for a few days to visit Grandma, Grandpa, friends and family. It was great to see friends and meet new faces. For it being our first road trip, Jonah did pretty well! And of course, Grandma was all ready for his stay-equipped with diapers, pack n' play, and swing! Here are a few pictures we took while visiting with friends and family.
